5 minutes chocolate cake for a lazy sunday afternoon


 

Today I didn’t feel like baking but I wanted something next to my cup of coffee in the afternoon. Then I remembered getting this recipe a year ago or so. It took some time to find it between all the emails I’ve saved (since it was recommended by someone close that made it), but finally we had our chocolate cake and coffee. This serves 1 – so I made a double portion in a bowl and divided it between to mugs.

  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips
  • 1 large mug

Add all the dry ingredients into a small bowl and mix well.  Crack an egg and be sure to mix it well to avoid any pockets of flour. Then add the milk and oil and mix well. Pour the mixture into a large mug.

Pop your mug into the microwave bake for 4 minutes on maximum power (950 watt). I baked it one mug at a time. You can make as many mugs as you need, but it is important to bake one mug at a time for full effect. Wait until the cake stops rising and sets in the mug. Serve with ice cream or add some fresh fruit to decorate.
